After this course students will be able to:

  • Use the correct topical products at home to treat mild to severe sots and acne.

  • Read and recognise correct ingredients on the back of products in shops and pharmacies.

  • Examine product packaging and promises so they can avoid false marketing.

  • Use the 1 step, 4 step or 5 step at-home skin routine to treat mild, moderate, or severe spots/acne.

  • Know how their skin works and what changes in puberty.

  • Describe the causes of spots and what is proven to treat them.

  • Recognise the different types and grades of acne, including simple congestion, so they can best treat their own skin.

  • know when to seek further guidance from a doctor or professional if they require it.

  • List the causes and recognise early signs of skin cancer and how to decrease their personal risk.

  • Describe how their genes and lifestyle choices affect their future skin health.
